From the sitting room at 15, Acacia Road

An installation for the group exhibition ‘On the 35th of May, one has to be prepared for anything‘ at Glór.

In 2021 I joined a reading group moderated by Glór’s Curator in Residence Moran Been-noon. We read and discussed ‘The 35th of May, or Conrad’s Ride to the South Seas‘ by Erich Kästner. All the participating artists were invited to create visual responses to the book. Later we were invited to develop our visual responses for a group exhibition curated by Moran Been-noon.

Inspired by the text of Erich Kästner's book, as well as group discussions with the curator, I had the idea to develop a small collection of objects and images which would serve as souvenirs of the heroes' journey to the South Seas.

The exhibition in Glór was open to the public from Wednesday 16 March to Saturday 07 May 2022.
