About me

Hi! I’m a freelance illustrator, currently based in the west of Ireland. I believe that images are incredibly powerful at telling stories. In relation to a text or independently they can reach our hearts and minds quicker than words, transmit very delicate nuances of feeling and emotion, and create new worlds within the space of a page or a screen. In my work I use visual language for interpreting narratives and bringing stories to life. Every project begins with the stage of sketches and concept development. Then, I choose the technique that would work best for the task and come up with a composition that brings all of the essential elements together. Finally, I add textures and refine details in order to get to the final look of the illustration. I love the flexibility of digital techniques, and I’m also fond of the spontaneity of analogue drawing and printmaking. This is why my illustrations often combine digital and traditional ways of drawing.

Personally, I’m particularly interested in themes related to social issues, psychology and mental health.
